Network& Security Solutions: Testing Engineer

Position Purpose:

This Testing Engineer positionwill be primarily focused on the installation and maintenance of the Security,Audio/Video and other Building Automation demonstrations in Anixter’sInfrastructure Solutions Lab in Glenview. In addition, this position willrequire customer facing ability to discuss these systems and offer direction toboth integrators and end-users on choosing the appropriate system for theirindividual needs.

In the role, you will be responsible

for preparing the facility for various customer tours and discussions. You will

become the technical contact and a valuable strategic resource for the sales

team visiting the facility. The position

will require some travel and maintenance of remote Briefing Centers.


  • Testing of new products as determined byother groups within Anixter.

  • Installation and evaluation of newsolutions from various technology partners.

  • Improve and grow Lab tour visibility andusage as well as Solutions Briefing Centerusage.

  • Buildand maintain outstanding Vendor relationships at anengineering/installation level.

  • ArticulateVendor’s value and differentiating features & benefits to visitingcustomers.

  • ArticulateAnixter’s value, capabilities and differentiating features to our customers.

  • Maintainequipment in both the Glenview Lab as well as the Solutions Briefing Centersin the USA.

  • Maintain accurate inventory of equipment available forpresentations to customers.

  • Workwith customers to integrate systems as a Proof of Concept in the Lab.

  • Understand key business drivers for product categories tosupport sales growth.


  • Understandingof data network systems basics.

  • Abilityto work on projects with and without guidance

  • Post-secondary education in relatedfieldor equivalent related work experience.

  • Abilityto exceed expectations through relentless execution of a plan.

  • Strongcommunication and presentation skills.
