Position Purpose:

Provides support to the sales team. Maintains a high-level of customer service with customers and ensures timely responses to issues. Monitors and reviews customer order activity and makes adjustments to processes and strategies as needed. Provides ongoing sales support to sales teams including the development of presentations and other materials for client meetings.

Responsibilities include:

-Maintain customer sales orders via EDI transactions

-Manage and maintain customer purchase order promise dates

-Respond to customer requests providing excellent written and verbal communication

-Expedite material to meet contractual obligations and customer requirements

-Provide follow-up to all customer promises

-Communicate promise date, material, delivery changes, manufacturer defects, etc. changes with customer

-Maintains weekly/daily reporting requirements for both internal and customer requirements

-Reconcile open A/P and A/R issues

-Support Alliance Manager

-Participate in customer and vendor meetings as needed

-Foster great relationships with vendors and customers

-Negotiate and maintain annual price updates

-Respond to customer order and quotation requests received via outside salespersons, telephone, e-mail, written, and faxed correspondence

-Source and provide quotations for customer material requests

-Issue RM’s for returns related to overstock, defects, etc.

-Researches and suggests alternate products to customers

-May provide administrative support and other duties as assigned

-Provide support and troubleshooting for operational requests as needed

-Participate in company and vendor training opportunities either on-site or off-site as needed

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Industry product knowledge preferred

  • Prior experience with spots buys, souring, and Request for Quotes(RFQs) a plus

  • Experience in Microsoft Office, - Excel, Word etc.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in both written and verbal communication.

  • Experience selling in an inside sales environment and/or demonstrated success working with customers.

  • Degree preferred
